Jo joined Coley & Tilley in May 2016 as a Trainee Solicitor, and has worked across the Dispute Resolution, Employment, Family and Commercial Property departments.

Jo completed her First class honours degree in Psychology at the University of Birmingham, and has made Birmingham her home ever since. Before converting to law, Jo was a Technical Author writing help systems and user guides for various software clients.  She was also a Non-executive Board Member of a local Birmingham Housing Association, using a wide range of skills to help steer the organisation through a time of significant change.

Ready for a new challenge, Jo studied the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Birmingham. During her training, she played a key role in the student team when the University was inspected by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), by carrying out research into the student experience and reporting to the agency. In her examinations for the Graduate Diploma in Law, Jo achieved first in year in Equity & Trusts, and achieved a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course.

During her training contract, Jo has thoroughly enjoyed gaining all round experience in many of the services on offer at the firm. She hopes to qualify into Commercial Property, which is her current seat.

In her spare time, Jo loves to spend time with her husband and daughters having debates around the dinner table! She enjoys reading modern classics, arthouse films and holidays with the family.
